During the event different concepts and tools will be presented to early calculate potential risks of an application which doesn\u2019t fulfill with its performance quality requirements, and to track the evolution of such risks during the life cycle of a software architecture. The activity will be carried on by Dr. Rodrigo Castro, Head of Epidata Consulting\u2019s Research, Development and Innovation.<\/p>\n
The model-based methodology which will be discussed includes the definition of a UML Profile to annotate early estimations \u2013 perhaps fussy- of the expected load on the system, the probability of not fulfilling with performance requirements and the level of negative impact that would occur in the event of a performance incident.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s been proven that, for nontrivial sized architectures, weighted risk information produced by this methodology constitutes a powerful tool for decision making and quality management of projects.<\/p>\n
The tool to be presented was developed as part of Ricardo Perez\u2019s thesis of Specialization in Software Engineering from the Universidad Catolica Argentina (UCA), directed by Epidata Consulting\u2019s Research, Development and Innovation area under an agreement of academy-industry collaboration.<\/p>\n

About Dr. Rodrigo Castro<\/strong><\/p>\n Rodrigo Castro is Doctor in Engineering from Rosario\u2019s National University and is responsible for Epidata\u2019s Investigation, Development and Research area. He\u2019s a teacher at the Computing Department in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (FCEN, UBA) and the Graduate School of the Engineering University (UBA): he works in the industry since the year 2000 in projects related to development, modeling, simulation and analysis of data networks and computing infrastructures.<\/p>\n Rodrigo regularly collaborates in research and teaching activities at Carleton University, Canada and the Departement Informatik, ETH Z\u00fcrich, Suiza.
